Our shutters are manufactured by the world leader in shutter production utilising a combination of state of the art CNC & CAD CAM manufacturing with hand crafted finishing touches. The wood utilised in our hardwood shutters is stored for 6 months before kiln drying to allow the wood to settle before being treated.
Further the factory operates to the highest quality audit schemes currently applicable to their processes and are holders of ISO-9002 accreditation

...the majority of shutter manufacturers our wood is kiln dried twice in a computer
controlled drying facility. Furthermore the wood is specifically dried to take into account the climate of the country in which the shutters will be used. Attention to detail indeed/ This is very important as shutters are manufactured for installation in climates as varied as cold Alaska, baking Australia and humid Singapore. Why do we do this? Utilising these methods means frame warping is greatly reduced if not eliminated.

...many other manufacturers we engineer our stiles. The stiles are the side bars of the shutter panels. Rather than producing these as solid pieces we cut the wood into strips which are then bonded back together in opposing layers for greater strength. Formula one style lamination technology! This has the effect of breaking the capillaries that run through wood through which moisture travels. This and the strength of the bonding agent ensures that our panels are unlikely to warp and will give your customers years of enjoyment .
UNLIKE ..
...many other manufacturers we use mortise and tenon joints between the rail and the stile. These are far stronger than dowel joints and will minimise movement between these elements. Movement means cracking in the paint or stain finish spoiling the aesthetics of the shutters. Again just in case there is some movement we engineer our panels with an additional grooved overlap that ensures any movement is handled by this expansion joint inside the stile rather than on the surface.

... many other manufacturers we use a high quality, proprietary paint system specifically developed for our shutters. Cheaper shutters use cheaper paints and stains and more than likely utilise less coats. We use 7 coats of paint or 6 coats of stain to ensure that the shutters we supply are less susceptible to fading and yellowing .

...other manufacturers we do not compromise on the thickness of our louvers as we believe thinner louvers, although less costly to produce, are much more susceptible to warping .

...many other manufacturers we supply our shutters with a large choice of frames rather than attaching them to battens. Not only does this give you, the customer, the choice of framing your window, utilising the style of frame to match your decor/ style but it also gives a much stronger and an appropriate fit for ease of installation.

...many other manufacturers we assemble our shutters prior to shipping to ensure that all the components fit together perfectly. Once photographed these are then disassembled and packed into custom made packaging ensure your shutters arrive in perfect condition.
All of this means we are able to provide a 3 YEAR WARRANTY on all our shutters built within our published specifications
